Angels in the Schoolyard

Angels in the Schoolyard
Angels in the Schoolyard. In memory of the many angels stolen in mass casualty events. The time to stand up and stop school violence is now. Proceeds from this track to raise awareness and education on school violence prevention and intervention worldwide.

Title: “Angels in the Schoolyard”

Verse 1
We send them to school to learn and connect,
Hoping their dreams will take effect,
We pack their lunch and embrace before goodbye,
Witnessing the miracle of how they fly.
In one heartbeat the dreams are snatched away,
A nation's heart shatters, turning to gray,
From all around, we hear empty refrains,
Yet true change is smothered by partisan chains.

Pre-Chorus
It's time to end the tragedy, the piercing cries,
Break the silence of "never again" lies,
We must stop the harm to our precious hearts,
For no one needs weapons that tear us apart.

Chorus
No more death, no more terror,
Schools should be safe, a haven, an era,
The future is robbed in the blink of an eye,
Too many candles, too many goodbyes.
Little shoes left by the door,
Dreams that won't grow anymore,
Heaven received what we can't replace,
Now angels embrace this sacred space.

Verse 2
The present is stolen, sparking brief outrage,
Yet over time, we flip the page,
Our angels deserve more than to be dismissed,
Their impact echoes, forever persists.
Our hearts are shattered, the pain so real,
Little smiles and tears we should steal,
We should guard them from the genuine fears,
But silence drowns the prayers we hear.

Pre-Chorus
Don't turn away, don't ignore their cries,
Unveil the truth beneath comforting lies,
The little ones need us to stand tall,
More than memories or a cross by the wall.

Chorus
No more death, no more terror,
Schools must stand free, fostering endeavor,
The future's stolen in a blink, a sigh,
Too many candles, too many goodbyes.
Little hands we yearned to hold,
Stories that remain untold,
Heaven welcomed what we long to embrace,
Now their angels guard this space.

Bridge
Their laughter echoes in silent halls,
Crayons scattered, names drawn on walls,
Backpacks wait, chairs gently pushed in,
A bell that won't welcome them again.
If love could shield them, they'd remain here,
Running safe with nothing to fear,
So let their memory forge our stand,
Not just sorrow, but a transformative hand.

Final Chorus (Lift)
No more death, no more terror,
Let's create a world with love as the bearer,
Let their names echo beyond tears in the rain,
Their loss must lead to our gain.
Hold them close in the hearts we raise,
In every classroom, every place,
Until no parent fears the day,
Their child won't come home safe to stay.

Outro
We send them to school to learn and thrive,
Trusting in a world where love survives,
Now little angels watch from above,
Guiding us to live with love.
